Kinovia is a private family app — not a social network. Every family gets its own secure, invite-only space where ancestry, memories, documents, safety and shared heritage all live together.
Unlike public social media, Kinovia is built around privacy. Access is controlled by invite codes and admin approval. Members only see their own family's information. Nothing is shared publicly — ever.
Getting started
One person starts it. Everyone else joins through invitation. No one enters without approval.
One person — the Super Admin — sets up a private family group, names it, and receives a unique invite code. They add root ancestors, build the initial tree, and control who gets in.
Family members download Kinovia, tap Join Family, enter their details and the invite code, and optionally link themselves to their parents or closest relatives already in the tree.
No one enters automatically. Admins review every request, approve or reject it, assign the person to the right parents, and link them to their correct place in the family tree.

Kinovia builds a living family tree from every approved member and added relative. See root ancestors, parents, children, spouses, branches, generations and descendants — all in one connected view. Complex structures like multiple parents and polygamous families are fully supported, so every child can clearly see their father, mother, grandparents and full ancestry.
Every member has a profile with personal details, birthday, gender, location, blood group, profile photo, and their connections — parents, children, spouses. Living status is tracked so the tree always reflects reality. Profile photos can be updated at any time and displayed in full view.
Search for any relative by name and instantly understand your connection — father, mother, uncle, aunt, sibling, cousin, child or other family link. In a large family spanning many generations, this feature helps every member understand exactly how they fit.
The home screen gives every member a live summary of the family: total members, generations, descendants, root ancestors, upcoming birthdays, announcements and events. Admins can also post family history notes so members can learn about their roots at a glance.
Admins post family events — reunions, weddings, naming ceremonies, memorials — and announcements that matter to the whole family. Members receive push notifications so no one misses an important update, and everything stays inside the private family space.
Preserve the memory of loved ones who have passed. Memorial pages hold tributes, photos and anniversary reminders. The Story Vault records oral history, family stories and personal memories — so the wisdom and experiences of one generation are never lost to the next.
Store important family documents — land papers, wills, birth certificates, passports — in a secure vault. Private documents are visible only to the person who uploaded them. For genuine emergencies, if a member has been inactive beyond their chosen safety threshold, admins may receive emergency access.
Every member can save their blood group in their profile. In a medical emergency, the Blood Finder instantly identifies compatible potential donors within the family — turning your family network into a life-saving resource when it matters most.
Members choose their own inactivity alert threshold — from 1 to 7 days. If they do not open the app within that period, family admins are alerted. A travel note and approximate last known location can help the family conduct a welfare check quickly. Members can tap "I'm Safe" to reset the timer instantly.
Kinovia sends timely notifications for approvals, new members joining, events, announcements, birthdays, blood donation emergencies, safety alerts, memorial anniversaries and family milestones. Every notification is purposeful — nothing spammy, everything useful.
Kinovia is not a social network. Access requires an invite code and admin approval. Every account uses Firebase Authentication and two-factor login. Data is protected by Firestore security rules and role-based permissions. Members only ever see their own family's information — nothing bleeds across family groups.
